Join us for the 1st Annual
Saturday, May 3, 2014
Join us for the timeless European custom of ‘wassailing’ where people gather at an orchard and recite or sing carols to promote a good cider apple harvest to come. People in the act of ‘wassailing’ will sing an drink to awaken the cider apple trees, scare away evil spirits in the orchard and toast the health of the trees to ensure a plentiful harvest of fruit in the fall.
Here’s to thee, old apple tree,
Frecon’s Cidery’s Wassail won’t require you to actually sing carols (unless you want to!) but it will involve the best hits of local bluegrass and folk favorites sung live in the orchard, including the Manatawny Creek Ramblers, Mason Porter and La Overtoner. Plus, together we’ll celebrate the release of the cidery’s hard ciders and the growing season to come! The event will feature the entire Frecon’s Cidery portfolio of ciders, plus food pairings from local barbeque, pizza and food truck favorites!
The event will take place outdoors, under tents, nestled into the orchards of Frecon Farms, rain or shine (no refunds). General Admission tickets are $30 and include one Frecon’s Cidery hard cider and food pairing. Designated Driver/Under 21 tickets are $15 each and include a Frecon Farms sweet cider and food pairing. Children 8 and under are free! Additional Frecon’s Cidery hard cider and food will be available for purchase.
